Safeguarding & Welfare at SAJC

We are proud to have met the requirements to be awarded the
Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts.


We have successfully achieved this award every year since we adopted it in 2020. (Prior to that we had been a Clubmark registered club)

St Albans Judo club follows the guidelines for Safeguarding, in regards both Children and Vulnerable Adults, as laid down by our National Governing Body for sport.

All our Coaches and Volunteers over the age of 16, both on and off mat, are DBS checked, and those over 18 also attend the UK Coaching “Safeguarding & Protecting Children in Sport” course every 3 years. Most of our Volunteers, and all of our Coaches also hold First Aid qualifications.
In addition our Welfare Officers attend the UK Coaching “Time to Listen” course
